Step into my world. Close your eyes. Clear your mind of worries about work, marriage, children, relationships, finances, sacrifices, demands, inhibitions.  Take a look around you.  Do you see people smiling, laughing, and living in the moment? Do they look happy? Turn your ear to the music. Do you hear the bongos, congas, piano, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, guitar? Do you feel the rhythm race through your veins leaving goose bumps on your skin?

Who are all of these people? Where do they come from? Can you tell me what you see? What do they look like? What color is their skin? What color is their hair? How old are they? What is their native tongue?  Are they single, married, divorced, widowed?

Who are you? Why are you here on this site? What are you looking for? Friends? Exercise? A new beginning? An escape from reality, even if only for a little while? Are you just curious and looking for answers?

As a man, what do you expect from Salsa? Do you want to gain the confidence to approach a woman? Do you want to ask for her hand, guide her to the dance floor, and lead her into a rhythm of moves and turns that you have chosen?  Do you want to talk to a woman without fear of rejection? Do you want to hold a woman in your arms? Do you want to feel young again? Do you want to feel older, more mature? Do you want to experience a sense of control at least in one area of your life?

As a woman, what do you expect from Salsa? Do you want to feel like a lady again? Do you want to stop worrying about the next step, but rather, clear your mind, and follow his lead? Do you want to disappear in his embrace? Do you want to dance with style, elegance, confidence? Do you want to look and feel sexy again? Does all of this sound exciting, interesting, enticing to you? Do you want people to look at you differently?

For everyone, do you want to feel better emotionally, physically, and mentally about who you are? Do you want to feel confident in how you are spending your time and energy? Do you want to be surrounded by people who are happy, friendly, and striving to make a life rather than being lost in making a living?

Salsa isn't a miracle drug. Salsa isn't the answer to all of life's problems. Salsa is music, dancing, and people. Salsa is a lifestyle.  Salsa is an escape from reality if that is what you choose. When you are ready for more, lasting friendships can be developed.

Salsa is a community of people full of passion not perfection.  Welcome to our world. May I equip you with this bit of wisdom that is not my own?

Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.
