SUNDAY/DOMINGO - DETAILS
| Cancun Cantina (Latin Night) 7501 Old Telegraph Road Hanover, MD 21076 (near BWI) Phone: 410-761-6188 Drop-in Salsa Lessons There is usually a free buffet at 10pm. DJ Heavy (Eddy Whitman) plays a variety of music to include: Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, and Reggaeton, with a splash of Cha-Cha and Punta. Lots of free parking onsite. In the summer, they open up the second side that has an outdoor tropical setting (including sand). Jeans are allowed. Similar clientele as Latin Palace and La Palapa. For the first hour after the lesson, DJ Heavy plays plenty of Salsa for all the Baltimore Salsa lovers out there. However, after 11pm, he turns the switch and this becomes home to all the Baltimore Bachata, Merengue and Reggaeton dancers. Aside from the occasional rooftop party in Pikesville, this is where all the Baltimore dancers go on a Sunday night. If there is a live band, you are sure to find the place packed. Otherwise, it seems to be touch and go these days. However, there is a core group of people that go to this venue consistently. It has a great vibe and the dance floor is almost as big as the one at the Promenade studio and the Towson Dance Studio. |
