Salsa Class Description:
Beginners learn beat, basic steps & turns, lead & follow and fun but easy choreographies. Intermediate students learn hand changes, cross body lead more complicated choreographies!!! Fun and friendly environment. Beautiful hardwood floors. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes preferably with a leather or suede sole that supports your ankles.

Directions:
Easy to get to: take 495 to 66 East to Spout Run/Lee Hwy, go left, up 3 lights and turn left into Pollard St. Entrance is on the right through the double glass doors and up the stairs. Parking in the Safeway lot or you can also park around the block on the street but be sure to check the sign

Artisphere is an exciting new art space with three theatres, three galleries, a ballroom, and outdoor terrace and lots of nooks and crannies, all used to showcase an eclectic mix of thought-provoking, weird and wonderful arts activities.  The Ballroom at Artisphere's 3,000 square foot bamboo dance floor is one of the best dance floors in the Washington area – Join us there for the Salsa Tuesdays, with music from some of the hottestgr bands around!

From 7:30 - 8:30 there will be a dance class, and from 8:30 - 11 pm, dancing.

Regular Admission for Salsa Tuesdays (including the 1 hour dance class) is $8.  Special events featuring live bands cost more.

Caribbean Breeze has free lessons at 9:30pm if you download the voucher from their site.

The lessons can go a little fast, but the crowd's pretty friendly so I wouldn't worry if you're a beginner.  Someone will be happy to break down the steps for you. Good mojitos with real sugar cane. A good dance floor. And unlike a lot of salsa places, Metro accessible!
